Description
The DooMotion Plug-In for HomeSeer
coordinates the use of motion sensors and dusk/dawn sensors by providing a
more descriptive status (e.g., "motion detected"), by performing
script-based actions when the status of a sensor changes, and by the
charting of sensor activity. The plug-in can also use motion sensing to set
the status of virtual "occupancy" sensors. The plug-in requires HomeSeer®
Version 2.1 or later.
Features
- Maintains custom device
strings for motion sensors and dusk/dawn sensors including support for
custom icons for web display.
- A Fail Safe Time feature
that resets motion sensors that HomeSeer® failed to receive an indication
that motion was no longer being detected. The Fail Safe Time is
independently configurable for each motion sensor.
- Uses virtual "occupancy"
devices which are controlled based upon whether a configurable set of
motion sensors have not detected motion for some specified amount of time
(Occupancy Elapsed Time). The Occupancy Elapsed Time is independently
configurable for each motion sensor. the user can have as many occupancy
sensors as you wish allowing you to track occupancy on each floor of your
house and/or for the whole house.
- Able to correct the
HomeSeer status of lights when dusk/dawn sensor changes status (e.g.,
someone manually turns the front porch light on at night which triggers a
nearby dusk/dawn sensor).
- Supports use of custom
actions via embedded scripting code that is executed when various sensor
events are received. For example, a motion sensor can be set to control
other devices when motion has not been detected for some period of time or
custom phrases can be spoken when given motion detectors have detected
motion. For HS2 users, VB.NET Scripting is supported.
- Supports creation of
custom VBScript functions that can be used within the custom action code
of any of your sensors.
- Supports sensor-related
triggers and actions within HomeSeer® Events.
- Log when motion/occupancy
is detected by a sensor and how long the sensor had not detected
motion/occupancy.
- Log when light/darkness
is detected by a dusk/dawn sensor.
- Logs when a
motion sensor and/or a dusk/dawn sensor has not changed state in some
specified time (Battery Elapsed Time) suggesting that you may need to
change the device's battery. The Battery Elapsed Time is independently.
configurable for each motion sensor and dusk/dawn sensor.
- Each motion sensor can be
configured to not trigger custom actions and write log entries until some
time (Normal Elapsed Time) has elapsed. Normal Elapsed Time is
independently configurable for each motion sensor.
- Supports the use of a
trigger code which does not have to be the same as the HomeSeer device
code. This is useful for plug-in devices (devices created and controlled by
other plug-ins) and when you want to ensure that the
device has a unique device string.
- Plug-in provides an
Inactive Mode that disables the plug-in so the user can do some troubleshooting.
- Plug-in provides an Away
Mode that resets motion sensors to reflect "no motion" and then
temporarily disables the plug-in for some user-defined time so that the user can
leave the house without triggering your sensors before you leave.
- Plug-in provides a Sleep
Mode that resets motion sensors to reflect "no motion" and immediately
waits for new sensor activity.
- Plug-in provides a
Security Mode that performs the same as Away Mode except motion activity
will be considered a possible security problem.
- Provides a System Tray
icon with a menu that can be used to set plug-in mode or to access
Windows interface.
- Creates a plug-in device
that displays current status of plug-in and allows the status of the plug-in
to be changed.
- Creates a plug-in device
that displays what motion sensor last detected motion.
- Windows and web-based
configuration of plug-in options.
- Windows and web-based
configuration of HomeSeer motion sensor and dusk/dawn sensor devices that
are to be controlled by the plug-in.
- Windows and web-based
charting of motion detection over time.
- Windows-based sensor activity
viewer including database management.
